This is a good source. There is another avenue. Many Pomeranias left via Stettin.
At least this was true with my family (ancestors). They sailed on a Prussian ship
from Stettin to New York. Often ships from sailed to England or more specifically
to Liverpool and then crossed the Atlanticor other ports in the world.

Since I have been unsuccessful in finding my family's emigration information
in the Hamburg list and Germans to America Books. How do I find information
on the Stettin departure ? I am quite certain they migrated October 1871 (family
notes) and most probably came to New York. They were from Kreis Saatzig
(near Stargard) so Stettin may be a possibility. I appreciate any clues or infor-
mation. They settled in Cass County, Nebraska.

Jim's statement that his ancestors left from Stettin and went directly to the U.S.
is rather unusual, but also shows that just about any combination of travel the
emigrants could use they did. Many of those leaving from Stettin used coastal
boats/ships which went to other German ports, some French and as Jim noted
Liverpool. By unusual, I mean percentages.

I have relatives that left from Stettin in 1873 on the 'Franklin'. I have also run
across a few other 1870s immigrants leaving from Stettin but none in the 1880s.
